Grok dating ban (by Grok)
Grok dating ban (by Grok)

So I got banned on X/Twitter. Again. But this time maybe for the most incomprehensible reason. I tried Grok dating.

I had asked Grok some X account related information previously and been surprised at how deep it was able to search account posts and link information together. So why not step it up a notch?

Grok Dating

I asked Grok to find me the 5 most compatible female X accounts with my account https://x.com/oskarelmgren considering age, sex-positivity, intelligence, wanting kids, sportiness, entrepreneurial mindset, and other aspects that Grok thinks would be important to match on.

It gave me 5 good X accounts with reasoning for why it thought they would be good matches with my account and search criteria. One of them was actually very interesting!
So I slid in her DM with a short message explaining my Grok search and actually finding her intriguing. And asked if there was potential that she could find me interesting based on my X account. Hit send.

Ban!

And instantaneous automatic ban on X! Sent message permanently deleted. I get the usual "your account has been blocked, prove you're a human" nonsense. After completing that I get a message threatening me to not violate community standards (or something like that) in the future. I have no idea what automatic ban process I triggered, but wtf. Not a very good user experience. And now my account probably has a shadow ban / de-amplification flag. Again. Probably already had that from the Twitter days though.

I even have a paid X account! 99% of message requests I receive are from obvious fake / social media farm accounts. But when I try to send a message request I get banned and have to prove that I'm a human?

Anyway. No Grok dating then I guess. Back to Tinder and Bumble.
It still think it was a really good idea! Too bad X doesn't want that traffic. Even though Elon wants his X to be a "everything" app.
